Original print Bataille du Mont-Thabor, Livree le 27 Ventose an 7. (17 Fevrier 1799.) Originally drawn by Swebach and engraved by Bovinet. Couche fils aqua forti. Late colour 461mm x 298mm. Very fine condition.
NOTE: Mount Tabor is located west of the Sea of Galilee, believed by many to be the site of the Transfiguration of Christ, was also the site of the battle between Napoleon Bonaparte, during his expedition to the Holy land in 1799 and the Mamaluk forces. The 30,000 French troops were led by general Jean Baptiste Kléber
