The Wets Kent Light Infantry Militia, which became 3rd and 4th Battalions of 'The Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment)'. Elongated excellent condition.

Volumes III & IV. Victorian illustrated weekly intended to keep the English speaking people informed of the facts and developments of the Anglo Boer War than raging. Printed and published by W.J.P. Monckton in London. This large volume in the original cloth binding with gilt title and spine with raised lettering is badly bound and damaged. Important source of refernce the weekly copies cover the period from April 7 1900 to September 29 1900. Total 832 pages. Damaged copy used and soiled with detached pages at start and end. Generally a breaker and content acceptable and legible. Important primary source of reference. First issue in book lacks pages 1-2 and has next pages detached and soiled. Similarly last entry has pages 831 onward detached though end paper and averts are present. Heavy large complete otherwise. Fascinating insight.
NOTE: First issue of Black & White Budget appeared on 14 October 1899 until 30 May 1903, after which it appeared as Black & White Illustrated Budget until 17 June 1905. The last issue was published on 24 June 1905.

Part I includes photographic section dated Jan 13 1900 on The Siege of Mafeking transmitted by a Native Runner. Printed and published by W.J.P. Monckton in London. This large volume in the original decorative cloth binding with gilt title and spine with raised lettering is badly bound and damaged. Important source of reference the weekly copies cover the period from the start (Oct 1899) to March 31 1900. Nearly 1000 pages. Damaged copy used and soiled with detached pages at start and end. Generally a breaker and content acceptable and legible. Important primary source of reference. First issue undated in book lacks pages 1-4 and has next pages detached and soiled. First section dedicated to the Transvaal Special. Heavy large complete otherwise. Fascinating insight.
