Classical simplistic design. Original colour faded. Usual lightly soiled central fold. Good clean copy on thick paper with excellent margins. 450mm x390mm. John Speed 'The Countie of Nottingham described The Shire Townes Situation and The Earls Thereof observed' published in his 'The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain' 1676 edition (sold) by Thomas Bassett and Richard Chiswell (First published 1610 date on map) engraved by Jodocus Hondius. Classical and well-known map with inset of Town Plan of Nottingham. Coats of Arms of named families and descriptive depiction of battle at Stoke against Henry VII in 1487. Original 'heavy' colour. Usual soiled and light damage to central fold and upper right corner otherwise very good condition. Full text on reverse.. 310mm x 385mm. Reference Beresiner British County Maps 348e
