Full colour plate of 'The Flags of All Nations' facing title page damaged and poorly repaired. Contents with 32 pages of introductory text followed by 56 maps divided into: Seven introductory maps of the World in Hemispheres and Mercator's Projection, charts and Solar System etc. thereafter maps of the five continents and two maps of the ancient World. Gilt edges and all maps and text in excellent condition with damage only to plain white sheets preceding Title page. Original cloth binding rubbed with light corner damage and used with spine and cover titles in gilt.

The four volumes with damaged spine though uniformly cloth bound in need of rebinding. Small folio. First editions. Uncoloured maps show signs of foxing otherwise very good condition condition. Text is clean and fresh and totally free of foxing. Overall excellent 4 volume copy.
