His left hand raised clasping a (missing) weapon or implement). Head restored into place with visible damage to neck and other repairs. Crude execution. Used as decorative part of larger object, possibly a structure, marked back shows placement damage. Late 19th early 20th century. 01664. Peru Paracas Phallic Huaco Peru 'Huaco' terra cotta globular erotic water vessel with protruding phalluses and stirrup handle accross them. Simplistic design in the style of Paracas culture reddish colour. Large approximately 220mm diamaeter 160mm high. Vessel associated with fertility rites and ceremonies. Purchase in situ c1960. Note: Huaco is the name given to earthen vessels and other finely made pottery artworks found in pre-columbian sites.
