1724 copper engraving in full original colour covering the Holyland with inset map and vignette of
Terra Canaan.
Attractive large title cartouche with Moses receiving the Commandments on Mount Sinai. Good margins lightly soiled at centre fold generally in excellent condition without faults. 600mm x 520mm
NOTE: J B Homann was born in Oberkammlach, Schwabia (Germany) flourished from early 1690s establishing his own firm in 1702. In 1707 he published his first Atlas. He was Geographer to the Holy Roman Emperor and member of the Prussian Royal Academy of Sciences. Homann Heirs took over the firm from c1730.
